i just dance the way i feel pt. 1

So, I thought it would be fun if some of my friends and I did a little questionnaire about how we will spending New Year's Eve, where ever we may be. It's been pretty fun reading these and I hope you guys like them as well. Click their names (if it's hyperlinked) to go to their blog or website! *Thanks to everyone that did it, did expect SO many people to do it so it's going to be in three parts and I'll post more tomorrow! I just thought of the idea the other day and underestimated how long it would take to make the posts...

(NOTE: I didn't ask about resolutions because honestly I don't really care about those and everyone always says the same thing, well that is what I think. You may think otherwise...)

Okay, so blogspot is acting really janky with me. It won't let me change the size of the font or alignment of paragraphs. Anyone else having the same problem?

Your current location: East Village, yo

Where/how will you be spending NYE (bar, club, friends house, etc)? Probably an early dinner with the family as my bro-ha needs to head out to NJ to see his girlfriend, and my folks probably have plans with some friends from London. I will be headed to see the Roots.

What is the one song that really gets you ready to go out? Really depends on my mood. Generally the Kills, 60's female pop groups, and recent music I've procured.

What are your going out essentials? phone, keys, wallet, chapstick

What is the one song that always gets you on the dance floor? Dependssss, David Bowie, classic rock songs, definitely nothing in the top 40 charts (unless it's whip my hair back and forth... which I have never heard on the dance floor), but currently I'd say some 90s rap.

What would you spin if you were the dj? Probably stuff no one would want to hear but myself and old men.

What drink will you be holding throughout the night? Probably whiskey and ginger ale. Whatever I'm given...

Who would you wish to kiss at midnight (celebrity or non)? My bunny, which will happen as he's coming along with me

What do you do after the party? Well, a co-worker's having a party, if the mta doesn't have problems out there in Brooklyn, that is.

What is your hangover cure? Jewish food! Matzo ball soup and latkes (potato pancakes) make me feel like a million bucks.

What is the one song that always gets you on the dancefloor? Anything by james brown.

What would you spin if you were the dj?I would spin anything old and groovy. archie bell and the drells- tighten up, I can't stop dancing, david bowie- young americans, orange juice- rip it up, etc.

What drink will you be holding throughout the night? I have been on a whiskey kick lately but i may just see where the night leads me... something tasty and fizzy. champagne is always good.

Who do you wish you could kiss at midnight (celebrity or non)? I will be smooching my boyfriend! And the rest of my friends... kisses are always generous at midnight amongst my pals.

What to do after the party? After the party, definitely a bar so I can legally buy a drink, but bars close around two here so hopefully another party! After definitely to skyline to get some late-night cincinnati chili. Eventually down to the frozen pond in a park to play on the ice and drink champagne and forties. I'll watch from the sidelines because i am a baby.

What is your hangover cure? Preferably I would drink a bloody mary or two, but if not that then greasy fried chicken and sleep and stupid movies all day.

A disposable camera and an excedrin.

Ride A White Horse by Goldfrapp.

Something that would be playing at a party Boy George would have gone to while squatting in London in the early 80's, with a bit of modern synthpop and sixties french pop thrown in for good measure.

Smirnoff Ice and champagne for midnight toasts.

You know what always gets me on the dance floor is "True Faith" by New Order.

f I were dj-ing on NYE, I'd play "Take U To Da Movies" by your boy, BANGS. Although, french people only like french electro.

What drink will you be holding throughout the night?

A flask of Vin Chaud for when we are in awe at the fireworks over the Eiffel Tower.

Who do you wish to kiss at midnight (celebrity or non)?

If I could kiss anyone for NYE, it would have to be the Trop Pop Top but probably it'll just be my best friend (which is almost as good).

What to do after the party?

The after party will most likely be my bestie and I dancing in our undies back at her apartment to the one record in the place - Jacques Brel, obvs. More champagne, please! We won't have hangovers but if we do, we'll just eat loads of steak et frites.

What is your hangover cure? Preferably I would drink a bloody mary or two, but if not that then greasy fried chicken and sleep and stupid movies all day.

Happy Christmas, loves!

Happy Christmas!

So, I am currently in the kitchen watching 'Love Actually', you can't go wrong with some Colin Firth...

(yes, please!)

...and the scene that makes every girls heart melt.

In addition to watching 'Love Actually', I am making madeleines with lemon zest whilst drinking homemade cider. Yumzzz all around.

Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Christmas. I hope everyone is enjoying time with family and friends or at least TRYING to enjoy themselves. I know the holidays are tough for some of us but please allow yourself one day of letting go of all the bullshit and are thankful for what you have and the people that truly appreciate and love you, near and far. I hope everyone received everything they asked for and more!

Have fun and be safe.

xoxo
