you're a stone fox

Not going to lie, I've watched The Virgin Suicides directed by Sofia Coppola about 5 times this past week. From this hauntingly beautiful film, I am trying to gain inspiration between The Virgins Suicides and Lost In Translation (wait for the post on that).

Lately, I've been utterly bored with my photography and I feel my work isn't what it used to be. Maybe I am just getting lazy.

With The Virgin Suicides, you have bright and dreamy filming. Coppola expertly employs a full arsenal to create a particular emotional context, including soft focus fantasy shots, stop motion film and the occasional quick cuts sequences. In a believably affecting moment of youthful awakening, many scenes evoke emotion, crushing perfection and private instants of coming of age.

I can easily say this one of those movies that are in my top 10 of all time favorite movies. As cliche as that most sound.

Plus, one of my favorite bands AIR did the haunting score to the movie. Pure perfection.
