Inspiration: Malia James

I am going to start making posts about people I admire and inspire me. Let me know what you guys think of this idea.

I am going to start with my dear friend Malia. What can I say about her that I haven't already? She's a great friend, mentor (gosh, when I first met her I would bug her with SOO many questions about photography since we were both film users), she gives great advice/recommendations, an amazing photographer, she can get down on the bass, directs videos, and girlfriend can make a MEAN mix CD.

Although the above is pretty extensive list to why I adore this lady, the most important quality about Malia is that she is full of LOVE. For as long as I have known her she has always been a nurturing person. Always putting aside what she is doing to help others and comforting you in best way she can even if you are miles apart. There were many times when dealing with extreme circumstances in my life, she stuck by my side and didn't give up. Any normal person would be like "this isn't my problem" and walk away. I am so grateful to have her in my life. She is the person that taught me how to let go and be free...

Besides my mother, I've never met anyone that pushes me as hard as Malia does. She keeps me in check, whether it's checking in on my drumming progress, photography or just life in general...she's magic.

I recently saw Malia whilst in Los Angeles. Although brief, it was good seeing her. Here are a couple photos.

My first IKEA experience in Cali earlier this year. We clearly were getting shit done.
